ArTown presents Celtic Song Sessions w/ The Sons & Daughters of Erin

Back again for a fourth year, the Irish Song Sessions at Black Rabbit seeks to initiate the unsuspecting public into the joys of singing Celtic songs in a pub. Led by Sons and Daughters of Erin (SADOE) board director (and member of local Irish style band Plastic Paddy) Doyle Stewart, we welcome singers (and players) of all abilities to join in the rendering of 5 or ten Irish or Scots songs at each 1 hour session. If you have a tune-able musical instrument (drums are OK), you're also welcome to bring it along; and harmony singing is a plus, as we usually do a few ballads and aires as well. There are usually plenty of printed song sheets to follow, and plenty of time before, during and after for ordering food and drink, so please join us. ArTown presents Musician's Spotlight w/ Rilery Hayes, Annie Davidson, MariKat and Kaitlin O’Connor

Reno Musician's Collective spotlights talented local musicians. Each artist plays a 30 minute set, and they are free to express themselves through covers or originals (or even poetry!) - they are also free for other singers or instrumentalists to accompany them. Annie Davidson is a singer-songwriter with a lyrical, blues-infused folk/rock sound. Her heroes include Rising Appalachia, Joni Mitchell, and Trevor Hall. She is a recording artist who and a classically-trained soprano, who plays around Norther Nevada as the Annie Davidson Band. She lives in a cabin in South Tahoe with her kids where she routinely scares off bears with a tambourine. Kaitlin grew up listening to 90’s country and started “writing” songs (making up words and melodies in her head) at about age five. Her favorite song at the time was “Man, I Feel Like a Woman”, by Shania Twain. Her writing style has developed since and is primarily influenced by folk artists, relating to the contemplative messages they hold and emulating that in her music. Riley Hayes is a multi-instrumentalist composer and singer/songwriter based out of Northern Nevada. He writes original songs under the artist name of Withówonder that blend funky alternative rock with powerful broadway inspired vocals, weaving a thread of story and poetry into every line of his music. MariKat is a local Reno singer and guitarist who brings a blend of power, vulnerability, and genre-spanning musicality to her work. Trained in opera and classical performances. ArTown presents Mark Sexton...Live at Black Rabbit

M. Sexton digs into his personal vault for an all-vinyl set that moves from deep 70s soul and disco obscurities into global cuts and driving, soulful house. His Late Checkout imprint sold out its debut run and has already landed on the radar of tastemakers like Louise Chen.
